Body and Design

The Samsung Galaxy A20 follows the typical 2019 A-series design. It boasts a first-class looking 3D bold back, a much-appreciated USB Type-C port, and feels very solid. It is also precisely similar to the Galaxy A30, apart from the fact that Samsung opted for a different AMOLED panel with a V cut-out.


Display

This affordable smartphone features an AMOLED screen, but the standout feature here is the HD+ resolution. This was a thing we were concerned about going into the review, but using the phone firsthand pacified us. The AMOLED panel offers outstanding contrast, quite close to neutral whites, and the option to choose between 4 different colour presets.

The Samsung Galaxy A20 features a 13MP rear camera and a supporting 5 MP wide-angle shooter. The interface of the camera allows you to slide between different modes like Pro, Photo, Video, and Live Focus from the bottom bar.

Battery

The Galaxy A20 has a 4000 mAh battery capacity and boasts fast charging support. The battery capacity is awesome and can easily last for over a day. Its Adaptive Fast Charging does very well at 15W. The fast charging is relatively fast. The battery charges to up to 35 percent in the first 30 minutes and the phone fully charges in less than two hours


Operating System and Processor

Samsung Galaxy A20 features the unique Exynos chip. The One UI 1.1 platform offers a user-friendly experience and a surfeit of stimulating features for users. When you first turn on the smartphone, you will observe that there is no noticeable app drawer but can be called by simply swiping upwards.

The smartphone is boosted by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 512 GB with a dedicated microSD card slot.

  • Lovely Design: Galaxy A20 is one of the Samsung smartphones you will see and fall in love with. It is sleek and very easy and comfortable to hold in the hand. It also slots very easily into the pocket.
  • Exciting Externa; Storage Option: Just like the Galaxy A10, this smartphone features an appreciable 32 GB internal memory and a very impressive 512 GB expandable option with a microSD card. This means you can get a 512 GB memory card, slot into the phone, and expect it to store large files and remain efficient.
  • Battery Capacity: If you want a mid-range smartphone that is highly efficient, stylish, and still boasts a startling battery capacity, then the Galaxy A20 should be on top of your list. This smartphone boasts 4000 mAh battery capacity, one of the biggest in its category. To add to the spice, it has fast charging features that allow you to fully charge the smartphone in no time.
  • Pocket-Friendly: This perhaps is one that cuts across all the new A series mid-range smartphones released by Samsung in 2019 so far. While Galaxy A20 is not outstanding in all sense compared to their flagship phones, the standard phones serve as cheaper alternatives and the price is reasonably competitive.

Samsung Galaxy A20: Things May Not Like About the Smartphone

  • Camera Should Be Better: Going by the Dual 13 MP and 5 MP camera, one can easily be deceived into comparing the camera quality with other flagship smartphones in the market. Do not make this mistake. In fact, do not expect so much from the Camera as it might most likely be below your expectation of a ‘Dual Camera’. Not the best dual camera spec return for the Samsung series.
  • Performance: This is quite debatable. While some will argue that the overall performance of the Galaxy A20 is great, others are of the opinion that it is sluggish; maybe too sluggish for a Samsung brand. Either way, Samsung could have done much better with the overall performance of this smartphone.
