Startimes Nigeria is a Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Network service. It is an offshoot of Startimes Media, a Chinese company that has spread its tentacles to West Africa. The service was introduced to Nigeria by NTA Star TV Network Limited in 2010.
The service makes use of the DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast on Terrestrial) technology. As such, it doesn’t need the installation of a dish for subscribers to enjoy its services. Currently, Startimes has upgraded its technology to DVB-T2.
