One major problem Federal and State Universities have in Nigeria is the unnecessary delay and elongated academic sessions due to unforeseen situations like national strikes or internal disrupt. This issue has been so dominant in the history of Federal and State institutions that it is becoming a norm. One upper hand Private universities have over Federal and State owned tertiary institutions is their ability to keep to their academic calendar through the session, maintaining a steady pace and fast academic session. This was always an issue for Federal universities until one of the institutions decided to stand out: welcome to The University of Ilorin.
Majorly known for its amazingly fast academic calendar, University of Ilorin became one of the first institutions to leave the Association of Staff University Union, the governing council in charge of Federal and State universities. The University built their own standard, going against every odd to become one of the best institutions in the whole country. In fact, the school was declared the best university in the nation for four consecutive years by NUC within the last decade.
It is not just about the school’s standard of education and learning culture, this institution remains one of the most peaceful schools in the nation, constantly nurturing students to be disciplined and well-behaved. Although UNILORIN is not one of the top universities when it comes to social life, it has undoubtedly written its name in the sands of time as one of the best universities the nation has ever established.
Its location at the heart of the capital of Kwara State makes the school central, giving easy access to people from all over the country. The school also boasts as one of the institutions with the biggest landscape in the country, giving them opportunity to expand and erect more structures when need be. Their hostel is top quality, it remains one of the best when compared with hostels of other Federal and State institutions.
The excellence they ooze is not limited to their undergraduate studies alone, their postgraduate school remains one of the finest in Nigeria. If you are a big fan of fast academic sessions and trustable academic calendar, then University of Ilorin should be one of the top universities on your to-go list.
The big question remains: how much does this reputable institution pay as school fees? In this article, we will take a critical look at how much UNILORIN students (Fresh Students and Returning Students) pay per session.
