Brief History of Filmhouse Cinemas
Before we go on with this post, let’s quickly discuss the brief history of Filmhouse Cinemas, the parent of Ventura Cinema. Filmhouse Cinemas was established by two Nigerian entrepreneurs, Moses Babatope and Kene Okwuosa. They identified an under-satisfied market within the Nigerian space that craved a lot more in entertainment. As a result of their finding, they decided to set up the cinema to meet this high demand for entertainment services.
Babatope and Okwuosa took a loan from the Bank of Industry in December 2012. With this loan, they were able to set up the first Filmhouse Cinemas branch located in Surulere, Lagos. Not too long after, other branches of Filmhouse Cinemas began springing up in different parts of Nigeria. Today, they have the largest cinema chain in Nigeria while they are the third-largest in all of West Africa.
