Samsung Galaxy S23 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is a follow-up to the S22 which was released a year earlier. However, if you are looking for a perfect compact smartphone, then the S23 is the closest option you have. The device boasts versatile camera chops, top-end performance, and an all-day battery life, a true first for Samsung devices in this category. We took some time to review this device, check out what we came up with below:

Design and screen

One of the most amiable things about the Galaxy S23 is that it is a portable and pocket-friendly device. It features a minimalist design, similar to what you have in the S23 Ultra. One look at this device and you may confuse it for the S22. However, Samsung made a few slight changes to the design to present users with some improvements.

The easiest change to notice is the removal of the camera housing contour located at the rear of the device. Samsung replaces it with a minimalist line of cameras. Interestingly, most people say that the S23 seems to resemble an iPhone because of the camera module.

This device comes with an ideal small screen that is designed for easy one-hand use. Because of this, the device seems to be more user-friendly than its larger counterparts. Asides from being so easy to hold and maneuver, the screen does not make you feel like you are missing out on anything, especially if you are a gamer. The build quality of this device is another thing to write home about.

Camera quality

The Galaxy S23 comes with a rear camera that is the same as what you have in its predecessor. After using the camera, we can tell you that the all-round performance of each of the rear lenses is quite decent. However, depending on the lighting, the cameras may produce unnaturally vibrant images.

The selfie camera of the S23 is an upgrade from what is obtainable in the S22. If you look beyond the lack of upgrades in the rear camera, you will notice that its HDR capture is satisfactory. You will also enjoy a decent level of detail in both dark and bright spots. Overall, the camera quality of the S23 is average compared to what you have in the S23 Ultra.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This chipset is unique to Samsung devices ad promises speedy daily performance. The GPU performance of this device is also upgraded to the Adreno GPU. This means that it will perform better while being more energy-efficient than its predecessor.

The storage options available are 128 GB and 256 GB. If neither of them is satisfactory, then you might need a different device. The reason is that there is no provision for an external SD card.
