Courier services are very important for the sending and delivery of both personal and business documents and items. These services make it easy for us to send items to our loved ones, business partners, and customers. There are several courier services in Nigeria today and one of them is EMS.
EMS is the courier services offshoot of the Nigerian Postal Service. This arm was established in 1986 and has grown to become the largest in the whole of Nigeria. In this post, we will discuss how much it costs to send items via EMS, its services, and its international destinations. Without further ado, let’s dive straight in.
EMS Price List in Nigeria
EMS provides several services with the most prominent being Speed Post and Regular EMS post. Regardless of the service, EMS ensures that all items that are sent via its company are delivered as speedily as possible. To this end, the standard delivery time for domestic transactions is between 24 hours to 48 hours. On the other hand, the delivery time for international transactions is between 48 hours to 72 hours.
By now, you must be wondering how much it costs to send an item via EMS. As much as we tried getting the cost of the company’s different services, we weren’t able to. The reason is that EMS didn’t publish any specific prices for its services. However, it has made provision for potential customers to calculate the cost of their transaction using the “online calculator” on its website. All you need to do is click “Quick tools” on the official EMS website and select “Online Calculator.” Here, you should provide the following details:
- Region
- Service type
- Destination
- Item type
- Weight (kg)
After doing this, click on “Calculate” and you will get how much you should pay for the service. From this, we can deduce that several factors affect the cost of sending an item via EMS. These factors include:
- Size and weight of the item.
- Sender’s location.
- Receiver’s destination.
- Type of item (document or merchandise).
- Selected service (either air post express, speed post, or speed post economy).
Other things you should know before sending your items via EMS include:
- The maximum weight for Speed Post Services is 50kg.
- The maximum weight for International items is 30kg.
