Also known as POP cement, white cement is used to produce white concrete for attractive and classy construction projects as well as building decorations. You sure don’t want a situation where you’d buy more than you need and then run into storage problems. A little exposure to weather elements and your white cement is rendered useless. Hello. Thank you for this post. However, as a construction professional, I must say that POP and white cement ARE NOT THE SAME THING. POP is made from gypsum, while white cement is much the same as portland cement with the addition of white aggregates. This makes it much more expensive than the normal grey cement. It is also much, much harder than POP. There’s a lot of fake white cement in circulation in the Nigerian market. Please let’s not misinform the public!

  Thanks a lot for clarifying my thoughts on this issue. I have researched extensively on the similarities/differences between both cements. No where has it been stated that White cement is POP cement. The building materials sellers in Nigerian markets contribute heavily to this wrong notion.
