The institution started as Kano Men’s Training College at the Native/Authority loaned premises of Gwale Senior Primary School before it moved to its permanent site in 1965. The college of education was established through the joint exertions of the United States Agency for International Aid (USAID) and the Ministry of Education of the then Northern Region under the distinguished leadership of Late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto. FCE Kano Acceptance Fees
Almost every higher institution of learning in Nigeria requires new students to pay acceptance fees. These fees are a recognition of the provisional admission offered the new student and an agreement to accept the admission. FCE Kano is no different from the other higher institutions as it requires new students to pay the non-refundable acceptance fees. The current cost of acceptance fees at this university is from N10,000 depending on the course of study.
FCE Kano Accommodation Fees
The Federal College of Education Kano has made accommodation provision for students on campus. If you would like to stay on campus, then you are required to pay the institution’s accommodation fees. This fee s usually between N8,000 and N14,000 per session. The fee covers bed space and hostel maintenance fees.
For newly admitted students, it should be noted that the acceptance fee is the first fee that is expected to be paid, even before the actual school fees. The acceptance fee is paid only once; for subsequent years, students are expected to pay only tuition fees. The acceptance fee serves as evidence of recognition of the provisional admission from Joint Admission Matriculation Board and non-payment means refutation or forfeiture of the admission for that academic session. Students are expected to pay tuition fees on time as this could mean missing examinations or tests.

Requirements of Admission in Federal College of Education, Kano
- JAMB Requirement: To gain admission into the Federal College of Education Kano, applicant must score at least 100 in JAMB and must have JAMB admission letter duly printed.
- SSCE Certification: Candidates applying for admission into FCE Kano (Federal College of Education, Kano) must have a minimum of 5 credits in Mathematics and English and other relevant subjects as it relates to his or her course of study in not more than two (2) sittings to be eligible to sit for their post UTME screening aptitude test. Please note that Federal College of Education, Kano except via special consideration, does not accept awaiting results, which would only be at the discretion of the management of the college of education.
It should be noted that although the JAMB cut off mark for admission into the Federal College of Education Kano has been set to 100, getting marks above this cut off does not essentially guarantee admission into the institution. Candidate is still required to go through an internal screening exercise and pass. While scoring above the cut-off mark gives candidate better chances of gaining admission into the college of education, the internal screening exercise determines the overall process.
